Chelsea Walker is an award-winning theatre director.

In 2017, Chelsea won the prestigious RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award and toured her critically acclaimed production of A Streetcar Named Desire across the UK.

She has twice been a finalist for the JMK Award and was awarded the runner-up prize in 2016.

In 2017 she was a director on the Old Vic 12 and was nominated for Off West End awards for both her productions of Low Level Panic and Cougar.

Chelsea is a script reader for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for female writers, the Bruntwood Prize and the Old Vic and has just finished post-production on her first short - Gobble, written by Anoushka Warden.

Recent productions include the UK premiere of Jonathan Spector’s play This Much I Know for the Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, On the Beach from Steve Waters’ The Contingency Plan for Sheffield Crucible, Missing Julie (Theatre Clywd) and Hedda Gabler (Sherman Theatre).

Chelsea is currently directing the UK premiere of Christopher Hampton’s Visit from an Unknown Woman at the Hampstead Theatre, to open in June 2024.
