Kirsty Applebaum

Kirsty was born in Essex and grew up in Hampshire. She has had a wide variety of jobs including bookselling, railway re-signalling, picking stones off conveyer belts, putting lids on perfume bottles and teaching Pilates. Kirsty writes children’s stories in a range of genres including science fiction, horror, dystopia and fairy tale. Her books have been selected by BookTrust for their Great Books Guides, shortlisted in a number of national awards and nominated for the Carnegie Medal.
