Named the 5th most powerful person in Vogue's Digital Power List 2012, young female entrepreneur Amber Atherton is the founder of hugely popular online jewellery boutique www.myflashtrash.com. A figurehead for enterprise in the UK, Hong Kong born British-bred Amber balanced a modelling career with business ventures and boarding school from the age of 11. Modelling for everyone from Harpers Bazaar to Vogue and LOVE magazine whilst delving into a vast range of diverse start-ups. A regular feature on the international fashion circuit Amber is regularly cited as The British Olivia Palermo.
Turned-Brit It-girl, she is definitely one to watch for 2012. With an international modeling background and a few films under her belt, this level-headed expat girl’s proudest accolade is undoubtedly the creation of luxury online jewellery boutique MY FLASH TRASH. This venture was started whilst still at boarding school, by buying and selling hand picked jewellery that she discovered from around the world. It was this beginning that gave her the vision to create MY FLASH TRASH in 2008.
Heralded as ‘the next Natalie Massanet’, Amber has clocked up considerable coverage to date, a coveted guest at the Cosmopolitan Capital’s of the World’s parties, Amber can be regularly found on the glossy pages of international editions of Vogue, Style and Tatler. Chosen for Audi’s ‘Bright Young Things’ campaign, covering ‘The Teenpreneurs’ guide to business by the Daily Express and was invited to sit on a panel at James Ogilivy’s 2011 Luxury Briefing Conference; alongside Sunday Times Style Editor Tiffanie Darke.
Amber stars in E4’s TV show ‘Made in Chelsea’ which documents her life. With all that Amber still finds time to study for her three year Fashion Management Degree at London College of Fashion, to be the Style Editor at Beyond Black Magazine and is signed to Premier Model Management. Amber travels extensively, always on the ‘lookout’ for new designers, but spends most of her time in London where she lives with her sister.
