Amy started her career working on films in Tokyo, while studying film and Japanese at Nihon University. Her early film work received multiple awards, including BAFTA and BIFA nominations and a Scottish BAFTA win for her first film, CAN’T STOP BREATHING, which was described by Alan Rickman as a ‘twelve minute masterclass.’ Further shorts include ICICLE MELT, with Greta Scacchi in Sweden, and THE CHILD, an adaptation of the short story by Ali Smith.

Amy directed CONTROL ROOM for BBC 1/ Hartswood Films. Her previous credits include HANNA for Working Title Television /Amazon, the finale of BBC thriller TRUST ME with Jodie Whittaker, and the horror series BEDLAM for Sky
