Anthony Horowitz was born in London in 1955, and published his first book, ENTER FREDERICK K BOWER in 1978. His first book introducing the teenage hero Alex Rider, STORMBREAKER, appeared in 2000, and he wrote the script for the screen version in 2006.

Anthony is a multi-talented, bestselling author and scriptwriter. He created Foyle's war and the popular Midsummer Murders. He has written over 50 books, including his ALEX RIDER series, POWER OF FIVE series and the DIAMOND BROTHERS series. Anthony Horowitz is one of the most popular and prolific children's writers working today. Anthony's phenomenally successful series of books about teen superspy ALEX RIDER have delighted children all over the world and the worldwide sales of his books have smashed through the 10 million copy barrier.

In addition to the highly successful ALEX RIDER books, he has also written episodes of several popular TV crime series, including Poirot, Murder in Mind, Midsomer Murders and Murder Most Horrid. He has written a television series Foyle's War, which recently aired in the United States, and he has written the libretto of a Broadway musical adapted from Dr. Seuss's book, The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T.

2010 marked the 10th anniversary of the ALEX RIDER phenomenon and ten years of Anthony Horowitz topping the bestseller lists.

Anthony's new book, The House of Silk: The New Sherlock Holmes Novel, is out in November 2011
