Caimh McDonnell won the BBC’s ‘Northern Laffs’ sitcom writing competition in 2009 where he was mentored by Craig Cash and Phil Mealey of THE ROYLE FAMILY fame.

He currently has two sitcoms in development with Craig and Phil’s company Jellylegs (including his ANGELS INC animated sitcom), as well THE ROXY in development with Big Fish. He is also a writer on the BBC2 series THE SARAH MILLICAN TELEVISION PROGRAMME.

He is also the creator and lead writer of the BAFTA nominated CBBC animated series PET SQUAD. Prior to that he was lead writer on BEAR BEHAVING BADLY, writing twenty three episodes over the three series. He has also written on HOTEL TRUBBLE, HOUNDED and, most recently, the forthcoming CBBC series THE REVOLTING WORLD OF STANLEY BROWN amongst other projects.

Caimh is a well established stand-up comedian; he was a BBC New Comedy Award semi-finalist and has written and produced two original shows for the Edinburgh Festival - "An Excellent show" - THE GUARDIAN, "Superb, a source of joy" - TIME OUT.
