Most recently, Catriona can be seen as Mrs. Gibbs in SEX EDUCATION on Netflix.
In 2019, Catriona played Leslie in the groundbreaking BLACK MIRROR: BANDERSNATCH on Netflix. In late 2018, she filmed the role of Saffron in upcoming feature, FUTURE TX. Catriona played Sophie in C4's DAMNED, and reprised her role in the second series. In 2017, she played Amy in hit show GAMEFACE for E4 and, in early 2016, the role of Mandy in series 2 of BOOMERS on BBC1.
Catriona played the role of news reporter Emily Surname in Charlie Brooker’s WEEKLY WIPE Series 3 and ELECTION WIPE; she also played the Floor Runner role.
Other appearances include BBC One's SUNTRAP, BBC2's RUSSELL HOWARD'S GOOD NEWS Series 6, and THE LENTIL SORTERS for Radio 4. She also recently filmed a new BBC comedy pilot for Hat Trick Productions.
Catriona's 2017 Edinburgh show, ADORABLE DEPLORABLE, received some fantastic reviews:
"This new show from Knox is smart, funny and empowering, highlighting Knox’s skills as an actor, writer and, as a result of her witty character-choices, even an activist." - The Wee Review ★★★★
"You’ll be hard pressed to find a solo performer more fearless than Catriona Knox at this year’s Fringe" - The 730 Review ★★★★
"Knox rattles through the hour with a considerable amount of energy and breathlessness, being equal parts clown and sage" - Broadway Baby ★★★★
Her 2014 Edinburgh show CATRIONA KNOX THINKS SHE'S HARD ENOUGH at the Pleasance Attic was picked as a highlight of the festival by various publications and had some brilliant reviews. It went on to have a run at the Soho Theatre.
"However much energy you can pack into an hour, it’s likely not as much as Catriona Knox. Bouncing through a joyful set of character comedy, she gives us such perfectly pitched creations as an austerity-themed television chef and a scathing parody of TED talkers.... Every hour should be this much fun.." - Three Weeks
"Fearless and bold in performance, imaginative and offbeat in inspiration, and razor-sharp in her writing, Knox is a formidable comic powerhouse who’s produced a ridiculous riot of a show. It’s a blast." - Steve Bennett, Chortle
"Energised she is, firing full throttle through a clutch of characters, with the gallus pace and steely vigour of a seasoned sketch pro....you’re well on your way to comedy gold." - The List
She also appeared in Harold Pinter’s tragicomic play A SLIGHT ACHE at the Pleasance, about a married couple’s insecurities, particularly of growing old. The three-hander also starred comedy favourites Thom Tuck, who also produces, and Simon Munnery.
Her brilliant character show, PLAYER, had a sell-out run at the Pleasance Attic in 2013 and then sold out its run at the Soho Theatre the following February:
"Player is a delightful hour of top-notch character comedy." - Broadway Baby
"This was very close to being a peerless character show from someone who has clearly been working hard on her craft." - The List
"Knox is young, beautiful, intelligent and blazingly gifted. She kicks off with a Jane Austen spoof in which the nubile innocent — ‘I am but 15 and a quarter years of age’ — has already sampled the physical goods and implores her papa to marry her off to the best-hung stud in the ball-room. Her next sketch, conducted entirely in French, takes merry swings at the idiocy of the examination system. Then she plays a deluded mum carrying a bag of rice instead of a baby. Are these ideas a bit thin? Yes, but her inventiveness, grace and charisma transform them into dazzling comedy. She already has the full range of skills: voices, accents, characters, improvisation, political satire and slapstick. And she’s a great mime, too (not a gift shared by all comedians). The closing number is a Strictly spoof that becomes a small masterclass in comic choreography. She needs to find producers who will shape and develop her career. She may not be the next Chaplin but she’s as good as Joyce Grenfell already, if not better." - The Spectator
Catriona starred in 2525, a six-part sketch show examining every walk of life 500 years into the future, which aired on BBC Radio 4 early last year. The show is co-created with Matt Lucas and also features Kieran Hodgson and Jamie Demetriou. The second series of her Radio 4 sitcom MISSION IMPROBABLE 2, with sketch group The Boom Jennies, also aired last year.
