Douglas Rintoul

Douglas is the Artistic Director of the Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, was an associate of Complicite 2004 - 2010 and AD of the national touring company Transport.
Douglas read Drama & Theatre Arts at The University of Birmingham. He won a Regional Theatre Director Scheme Bursary to train at Salisbury Playhouse and was selected for the Royal National Theatre Studio Young Director's Programme. His script for his production Elegy won a Royal National Theatre Foundation Playwright's Award and the production was nominated for a Fringe First. His work has received 17 Off West End Awards nominations (including two for Best Production) and a What's On Stage Award nomination. The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch was recenlty awarded the London Theatre of the Year Stage Award.
He has directed musicals, new writing, classic texts, modern classics, work for young people as well as devising work. He has commissioned and dramturged new work and has written eight plays.

He has also directed and taught for LAMDA, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Mountview, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
