EDWARD TAYLOR grew up in Southend, Essex, where he aquired his love of the sea. He still aims to be in it or on it as often as possible.

He wrote and performed in the Cambridge University Footlights Revue of 1955 which played in London with great success. He was then invited to join the BBC as a writer-producer on a twelve-month contract. He accepted, and stayed for thirty-six years.

Edward's 3214 productions have included many of the BBC's classic series, broadcast around the world among them : Just A Minute, Round the Horne, I'm Sorry - I'll Read That Again, Does The Team Think and Dr. Finlay's Casebook. He also wrote scripts for Morecambe and Wise, Arthur Askey, Harry Worth, The Two Ronnies, and others.

His two activities combined when he created, wrote and produced The Men From The Ministry, which ran on the BBC for fifteen years, and is still enjoyed overseas.

Ted lives in Hampstead and has a daughter, Imogen. When not writing, he wastes time following cricket and loafing in the garden.
