Helen was one of the four winners of the 2007 Linbury Biennial Prize for Stage Design and designed Kwame Kwei-Armah's new play, LET THERE BE LOVE, at the Tricycle Theatre in January 2008. Helen graduated from Rose Bruford College with First Class Honours in Directing in 2002, and went on to do a Postgraduate Diploma in Theatre Design at the Bristol old Vic Theatre Scool in 2005/06. Her designs for LULU were been praised by the critics: 'There is a great deal to admire, not least in Helen Goddard's design, which conjures the peep show and perhaps the abattoir, too, as befits the play's shocking ending.' (Guradian) 'Helen Goddard's set is both mysterious and recognisable, open and labyrinthine. it signals that we are in the underworld of the soul.' (Sunday Times) |
