Louise trained at RADA and was awarded a full scholarship for the 3 year acting course. After a series of leading dramatic roles in the theatre (including The Almeida, Paines Plough, Shakespeare’s Globe and Shared Experience) Louise focussed on her talent for comedy. She starred in comic play TIMING at the King’s Head Theatre to critical acclaim, and began working as half of double-act Ford & Akram. This lead to a Channel 4 taster tape for the duo, and a BBC Three Pilot with Tiger Aspect Productions. In August 2012, Louise performed a second Ford & Akram show BAMP! on the Edinburgh Fringe, and took her debut solo show JENNY FAWCETT to the Pleasance Courtyard, packing out her venue to a raft of brilliant reviews. Following her Edinburgh success, Louise was invited to join Vic Reeves and Dan Renton Skinner as a regular cast member on THE MINISTRY OF CURIOUS STUFF. She has also appeard in IT’S KEVIN, a new BBC sketch vehicle for comedian Kevin Eldon. Louise recently appeared in Richard Eyre’s production of QUARTERMAINE’S TERMS in the West End alongside Rowan Atkinson, and is currently filming CHICKENS for Sky, a 6 part comedy series written by Jonny Sweet, Joe Thomas and Simon Bird which also stars Barry Humphries. As a writer, Louise is developing her own comedy scripts and writing sketches for television. She continues to perform new JENNY FAWCETT material on the London circuit and has a run of dates at the Soho Theatre in May 2013. Praise for JENNY FAWCETT: “Rib-achingly hysterical” * * * * * METRO “A skilfully written creation wringing constant laughs” * * * * THE LIST “So outrageous and surreal as to make you double up with laughter” * * * * THREE WEEKS “Ford’s performance is light and endearing” Brian Logan, THE GUARDIAN |
