We are delighted to see Jodie Hodges, literary agent for children's authors and illustrators and head of Books at United Agents, shortlisted for Literary Agent of the Year at the British Book Awards 2024 (aka the Nibbies).

Regarding the nomination, the Bookseller said: 'The phenomenal success of Jamie Smart is in no small part down to the prolonged work of United Agents’ head of books Jodie Hodges. She has been a tenacious deal-maker for many more writers and illustrators including Harriet Muncaster, Jim Field and Camilla Reid. “I owe my career almost entirely to Jodie,” said one client.'

Jodie started working with Rosemary Canter in 2006, assisting on her list. She was made an agent in 2010 and became head of the Books department at United Agents in 2021. She is a Children’s Book specialist and her client list includes bestselling and award-winning illustrators and authors of picture books, fiction and non-fiction from babies to teens.

The winners of the Nibbies will be announced in a ceremony on 13th May.
