Guy Masterson’s production of MORECAMBE by Tim Whitnall plays at the Duchess Theatre

MORECAMBE, the solo show written by Tim Whitnall and
directed by Guy Masterson, which charts the rise of national treasure Eric
Morecambe, plays at the Duchess Theatre until 17th January. This
follows on from a hugely successful, critically lauded run at the Edinburgh
Festival where it was awarded a Fringe First, and precedes an extensive UK tour
which will run until June.

The show opened to a full standing ovation and received
numerous critical accolades:

Tim Whitnall’s ‘sharp, pacey’ (Observer), ‘neatly honed’
(Times) and ‘cunningly constructed script, ‘which seamlessly mixes biography
and gags’ (Guardian) and ‘reviews Morecambe’s entire career in a style that’s
generous yet not slavish’ (Evening Standard).

‘Guy Masterson’s production is far richer than a mere
sustained impersonation’ (Guardian) and ‘directs with a nice sense of pace’
(Evening Standard).

‘I have rarely experience a warmer, funnier or more touching
one-man show’ (Telegraph).

Tim also penned THE HIDE (an adaptation of his play THE
SOCIABLE PLOVER), which received rave reviews and was named by the Times as one
of the best films of the year. It is available to buy on DVD from 11th
January.
