Bola Agbaje's OFF THE ENDZ opens at the Royal Court

Following on from her debut success of GONE TOO FAR!, Bola Agbaje returns to the Royal Court with her newest play OFF THE ENDZ. It offers a tough, unflinching look at a couple’s attempts to escape a sink estate legitimately whilst resisting the lure of easy options offered by a recent parolee.
The play is directed by the Court’s Deputy Artistic Director Jeremy Herrin, stars Ashley Walters, Lorraine
Burroughs and Daniel Francis, and has been acclaimed by the critics:

Agbaje is a writer with a terrific future. The Times ****

Agbaje writes with clarity, economy and street-savvy... As a moralist, Agbaje hits her target dead centre.
The Guardian ****

Illuminated by whip-smart humour and Agbaje’s compassion for her characters. A flavoursome
slice of life. Time Out

Written with a mix of passionate feeling and uninhibited humour, the text is occasionally declamatory, but never sentimental, or verbose. Basically, it rocks... Agbaje’s anatomy of black aspiration is frank, outspoken and also both moving and entertaining. The Arts Desk

The play runs at the Royal Court (Downstairs Theatre) until 13th March.
