Charlotte Grimshaw shortlisted for Commonwealth Writers' Prize

Congratulations to Charlotte Grimshaw who has made it onto the shortlist for regional winners in the 2010 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for her book SINGULARITY.

The Prize is presented by the Commonwealth Foundation with support from the Macquarie Group Foundation. The final programme, starting on 7 April in Delhi, will bring together the finalists from the different regions of the Commonwealth, and the two overall winners will be announced there on 12 April.

Jane Campion described Charlotte Grimshaw as “a master with mystery, very contemporary and astute.”  She goes on to say “these two books [OPPORTUNITY and SINGULARITY] are elliptical, atmospheric and compelling in the way a good crime novel should be. There are complex love affairs, undercover detectives, doctors, adoptions, bad stepmothers and lost children. Her language is relaxed, spare and perfect.”
