Alice Oswald Wins Inaugural Ted Hughes Award

Congratulations to Alice Oswald whose WEEDS AND WILD FLOWERS
just won the inaugural Ted Hughes Award for the most exciting contribution to
poetry. Poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy who founded the prize said that of all
poets working today ‘Alice Oswald is probably the most like Hughes, so it seems
fitting that she gets the first award,’ and added ‘I think Ted would have been
bowled over by her collection.’
