DAVID SZALAY WINS GEOFFREY FABER MEMORIAL PRIZE

Congratulations to David Szalay whose outstanding debut novel, the Betty Trask winner LONDON AND THE SOUTHEAST just won the Geoffery Faber Memorial Prize 2009. The prize, which counts among its past winners Julian Barnes, J M Coetzee, Seamus Heaney, J G Farrell, Graham Swift and David Mitchell, was awarded by Tony Faber and Boyd Tonkin, who likened the novel to the works of Graham Greene and Patrick Hamilton.
