Good Housekeeping Food Awards 2010

Both Gregg Wallace and Nigel Slater were honoured at the Good Housekeeping Food Awards 2010, held at Forbes House on Wednesday 26th May, hosted by Jane Asher.

MasterChef, as judged by Gregg Wallace and John Torode won the 'Favourite Cookery Programme' award voted by Good Housekeeping readers.

The MasterChef 2010 winner, Dhruv Baker, presented John Torode with the award which he received on behalf of the programme.The previous winners, Thomasina Miers and Matt Dawson, were also at the event to toast MasterChef's success.

The runner-up 'Favourite Cookery Programme' was Nigel Slater's BBC One series 'Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers'.

Nigel Slater was also the recipient of the Award for 'Favourite TV Chef'.  Famous for his lavish yet laid-back approach to cooking, Nigel sees himself as a cook who writes. With seven cookery books under his belt, he still favours home cooking that's easy to accomplish. A worthy winner of this prestigious prize!
