TIM SAMUELS: MAN BOOKER PRIZE SPECIAL BBC2 9TH OCT 1755

For this Culture Show Special on Saturday 9th October, BBC2 at 1755, the Man Booker Prize 2010, Tim Samuels
visits the Scottish village of Comrie in Perthshire and asks the locals to give
him their verdict on this year's Booker shortlist.

Tim has been to Comrie on Booker business for the Culture Show twice before,
so as he makes his way around the town to hand out the shortlisted books, he
meets many of the characters who have taken up his reading challenge in previous
years, from the butcher and the vicar to the lord of the manor.

After three weeks of intensive reading, during which they will have had a
chance to talk to the writers, some in person, some via webcam, the people of
Comrie will give their verdict on who should win the Man Booker prize this year.
The winner will be announced at a special village fete with the local pipe band
in attendance.

In their previous Booker reading marathons for the Culture Show, the people
of Comrie's book choice has not matched that of the official judges. Will their
favourite turn out to be the winner this year?
