JOURNEY’S END returns to West End

David Grindley’s multi-award winning, critically-lauded production of JOURNEY’S END by R.C. Sherriff has returned to the West End following a UK tour, with a sound design by Gregory Clarke, and is currently Critics’ Choice in Time Out.

Thunderously powerful stuff... Grindley’s scrupulous production... it’s hard to imagine Grindley’s precise, visceral production being bettered.

Gregory Clarke’s sound design is spectacular: the final minute, where we are blasted with the sound of shells, loud as any rock concert, is a coruscating sonic coup de theatre.
Time Out (Andrzej Lukowski) **** Critics’ Choice

David Grindley’s outstanding revival.
Whatsonstage (Michael Coveney) ****

A brilliant, sobering, devastating experience... Hugely affecting.
Daily Express (Julie Carpenter) *****

Reviews from the UK tour:-

Director David Grindley gives Sherriff’s lacerating dialogue introspection and distraction... A corkscrew of tension, emotion and drama.  Sublime.
Independent (Matilda Battersby) *****

David Grindley’s superb production... Unforgettable.
Times (Jeremy Kingston) *****

David Grindley’s scrupulous production... The final moments of the production, both pointed and yet exquisitely understated, are devastating.
Guardian (Lyn Gardner) ****

It plays at the Duke of York’s Theatre until 3rd September and will then immediately continue its national tour until November.
