DEATH AND THE MAIDEN opens at Harold Pinter Theatre

Ariel Dorfman's Olivier-award-winning 1990 political thriller, DEATH AND THE MAIDEN, has opened in a new production by Jeremy Herrin at the recently renamed and refurbished Harold Pinter Theatre (formerly the Comedy Theatre) in the West End.

The play tells the story of Paulina (Thandie Newton). Years after her rape and torture at the hands of a now-fallen South American dictatorship she encounters the man, Roberto (Anthony Calf), whom she believes was responsible for her ordeal and quickly devises a plan to exhort a confession and apology from him. Roberto protests his innocence, Paulina is convinced of his guilt and her husband Gerado (Tom Goodman-Hill) is unsure who to believe.

The production features lighting by Neil Austin and music by Stephen Warbeck.

More information on the show can be found here and tickets can be purchased here.
