Success at the RTS Craft & Design Awards

Huge congratulations to costume designer Annie Symons and production designer Grant Stewart Montgomery who won at the 2010/2011 RTS Craft & Design Awards last night for their work on BBC2's mini-series THE CRIMSON PETAL AND THE WHITE.

Annie Symons was recognised for Best Costume Design (Drama) and her work was praised by the judges as "stunning, highly designed with beautiful detail.  The jury thought the heightened reality was like nothing they’ve ever seen before, showing the underbelly of a period with extraordinary use of colour".

Grant Stewart Montgomery picked up the gong for Best Production Design (Drama).  The panel said that "the winning programme simply took you to another world with its stunning imagery of Victorian life. Nothing was sacrificed transferring this novel to the small screen".

EXILE, written by Danny Brocklehurst, also received a nod for Best Editing (Drama) which was won by Roy Sharman.

The awards took place at the Savoy Hotel and were presented by Myleene Klass.
