TYRANNOSAUR triumphs at BIFAs

TYRANNOSAUR was the biggest winner at this years British Independent Film Awards.

At the awards ceremony, held on Sunday night, Olivia Colman picked up the Best Actress award. The film also took home the award for Best British Independent Film, and The Douglas Hickox Award for Best Debut Director.

The film is Paddy Considine's directorial debut and tells the story of a violent man, Joe (Peter Mullan), who is offered a chance at redemption through his relationship with a charity shop worker, Hannah (Olivia Colman), whose home life with her husband James (Eddie Marsan) may not be as perfect as it outwardly appears. It features make-up and hair by Nadia Stacey.

The success at the 2011 BIFAs follows excellent reviews and awards from The Sundance Film Festival, The Nantucket Film Festival,The Munich Film Festival, The Dinard British Film Festival and The Voices Festival of Independent European Cinema.
