Susan Smith Blackburn Prize nominees announced

Alice Birch and Alexis Zegerman have been listed among the ten finalists for the 2011/12 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, which annually honours an outstanding new English language play by a woman, chosen from more than 100 entries.

Alice’s play, MANY MOONS, played at Theatre503 in the spring of last year, and she is now currently on attachment to the Royal Court and Paines Plough.

THE STEINGOLDS, by Alexis (repped for her writing by Casarotto), was put forward by Playful Productions.

The winner will be named at the Awards Presentation on February 28th in London.
