BAFTA Television Awards Nominations Announced

The BAFTA Televsion Awards 2012 shortlist has been announced.

Andrew Scott receives a nomination for Supporting Actor for his prortrayal of Jim Moriarty in Sherlock.

In another performance category - Female Performance in a Comedy Porgramme - Jennifer Saunders as Edina Monsoon in Absolutley Fabulous goes head-to-head with Olivia Colman as Sally in Twenty Twelve.

An Idiot Abroad which was created by, executive produced by and stars Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant is up for the Reality & Constructed Factual award, while Peter Capaldi's The Cricklewood Greats also picks up a comedy nod for Comedy Programme; Peter co-produced, co-wrote, directed and presented the show.

In the International category, director Kristoffer Nyholm is nominated for The Killing, and executive producer Jeff Pope's Appropriate Adult rounds off its three acting nominations with a nod in the Mini Series category too.

United Voices also scores success with Our War narrated by Shaun Dooley and the Rupert Graves narrated 9/11:The Day that Changed the World picking up nominations in the Factual Series and Single Documentary categories respectively.

As well as its Situation Comedy nomination, Fresh Meat, which features writing by Penelope Skinner and stars Joe Thomas and Jack Whitehall, is up for the YouTube Audience Award voted for by the general public. To see a clip and for your chance to vote for the show click here.
