FIESCO opens Faction season at new Diorama

Mark Leipacher’s production of Schiller’s FIESCO, which he directs and has also adapted (marking the play’s English language premiere), has now opened at the New Diorama Theatre as part of the season hosted by the Faction Theatre Company (of which Mark is Artistic Director).  Following last year’s successful revival of MARY STUART, this lesser-known of Schiller’s plays marks the continuation of the company’s staging of Schiller’s entire canon.

The rep season continues with THREE SISTERS, opening this week and also directed by Mark, and later with BLOOD WEDDING, which opens at the end of the month.

What the reviews have said about FIESCO:-
robust new adaptation by Leipacher …It is not just the Schiller completist who will find this fluent, fiercely committed production rewarding.
Independent ****

a challenging and adventurous take on Schiller’s obscure Fiesco … This production […] is bold and colourful, director Mark Leipacher daring and inventive throughout.
Whatsonstage ****

an engaging production with the company’s usual hallmarks: slick, accessible text and a tightly choreographed, committed company …Skilfully staged and cleverly adapted, this version of Fiesco is chock-full of intrigue, political machinations, and masterful soliloquies. … the direction is effective and inventive … Another commendable, compelling production from this award winning theatre company, and one that will keep you guessing right until the end.
The Public Reviews ****

Mark Leipacher’s new version has a clear-sighted vision and solid line of storytelling and as its AD, Leipacher’s direction has a strong sense of the capabilities and opportunities offered by The Faction’s ensemble.
