Michael Frayn receives Olivier Lifetime Achievement Award

 

Michael Frayn received a Special Award at this year's Olivier Ceremony at the Royal Opera House in the heart of London's theatreland.  Roger Allam, long time friend and associate of Michael's, presented the Award to him, in a speech which pointed up Michael's huge and diverse writing talent over many years which has not only resulted in a large number of award-winning stageplays but also novels and screenplays as well as a very successful career as a journalist.   Daniel Evans, Artistic Director of Sheffield's Crucible Theatre and famed West End producer, Michael Codron, also contributed pieces, decribing their delight at their involvment with the man and his work.
