I. J. Kay wins the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award

Congratulations to I. J. Kay whose wonderful debut novel MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON has jointly won the 60th Author's Club Best First Novel Award, with Ros Barber's THE MARLOWE PAPERS. The award is presented to the most promising debut novel issued by a British publisher in the previous year. The prize of £2,500 was awarded by author Sally Vickers at a reception held at the National Liberal Club. She likened MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON to J. D. Salinger's CATCHER IN THE RYE, remarking that its protagonist Louise has a 'Holden Caulfield-like quality - highly intelligent and very damaged.'
