Anthony Loyd Wins Amnesty International Media Award

Anthony Loyd, senior War Correspondant for the Times has won an Amnesty International Media Award for newspaper journalism for his reporting of the conflict in Syria.  The three articles that won were: We Heard Screaming 20 hours a Day; Worse Than War: inside city of death; Millions Starve as Assad plays the Hunger Game.

The Amnesty awards, which cover the period March 2012-February 2013 - are in recognition of human rights reporting and acknowledge the contribution that journalism makes to the public’s awareness and understanding of human rights issues.
