A FIELD IN ENGLAND makes UK release history

Ben Wheatley's new film, A FIELD IN ENGLAND, starring Reece Shearsmith, is released this Friday 5th July and in doing so  becomes the first ever UK film released simultaneously in all formats – cinema, DVD, VOD, and even broadcast TV – on the same day. Film4 and 4DVD partner for a groundbreaking release with support from the BFI. Set during the English Civil War, the film follows a small group of deserters fleeing the battlefield who become entangled in the fortunes of an alchemist and a search for hidden treasure.

New agency addition, Laurie Rose, acted as Director of Photography on the project and early reviews have been ecstatic. Assigning it 5 stars, Robbie Collin at The Telegraph calls the film “an abstract occult head-trip, a curdled Canterbury Tale and a comedy so dark you can barely see the end of your nose in it”.
