Bernardine Bishop, author, has died aged 73

Bernardine Bishop, writer and psychotherapist, has died aged 73. Bernardine was the youngest witness in the trial of DH Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover, where her evidence was used as support for the book's literary merit. Unexpected Lessons in Love, Bernardine's final novel, explores life with cancer with a frankness and gentle humour that mark it out. The paperback, published last week by John Murray, is a Waterstones Book Club title.

Bernardine's obituary in the Guardian can be found here.
