Edinburgh Fringe Firsts Awarded

The latest Fringe First Awards for this year’s Edinburgh Festival have been announced by the Scotsman:-

FLEABAG (Underbelly until 25th August), written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and directed by Vicky Jones.  The production will be transferring to the Soho Theatre Upstairs for a run from 3rd to 22nd September.

DARK VANILLA JUNGLE (Pleasance until 26th August) by Philip Ridley, directed by David Mercatali

Theatre Uncut (Traverse until 19th August) for its programme of short plays that ‘raise debate and call for action’, including PROJECT N.I.G.H.T. by Tanika Gupta.

The first round of winners, announced last Friday, included GROUNDED (Traverse until 25th August) by George Brant, directed by Christopher Haydon, which will transfer to the Gate Theatre (where he is Artistic Director) for a run from 28th August to 21st September.
