Margaret MacMillan longlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize

Margaret MacMillan's THE WAR THAT ENDED PEACE has been longlisted for the 2013 Samuel Johnson Prize.

Now in its 15th year, the Samuel Johnson Prize is the most prestigious non-fiction award in the UK. It was won by MacMillan in 2002 with PEACEMAKERS: SIX MONTHS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD (John Murray).

THE WAR THAT ENDED PEACE, a history of Europe's path to WWI, is published by Profile Books on the 17th October. The Samuel Johnson shortlist is announced on the 30th September, and the winner on the 4th November.
