Big year for UA clients at BFI London Film Festival 2013

BFI have released the line-up for the London Film Festival 2013 and it is set to be a huge year for United Agents, with 40 clients involved across 25 projects.

Kicking off the 12 day festival in the prestigious Opening Night Gala spot is CAPTAIN PHILLIPS shot by DOP Barry Ackroyd BSC and 2nd Unit DOP Niels Reedtz Johansen whose work as DOP can also be seen in the family friendly ANTBOY.

STARRED UP written by Jonathan Asser and directed by David Mackenzie is up for The Best Film Award. Other contenders in the Official Competition include THE DOUBLE edited by Chris Dickens A.C.E. and Makeup Design by Jan Sewell, PARKLAND shot by DOP Barry Ackroyd BSC and sci-fi UNDER THE SKIN with Costume Design by Steven Noble and Hair and Makeup Design by Chrissie Beveridge.

SIXTEEN is written and directed by Rob Brown, his debut is up for The Sutherland Award, starring Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rachael Stirling and Alexis Zegerman. ILO ILO, debut for writer/director Anthony Chen is also up for the directorial debut award.

Kate Winslet stars in LABOR DAY presented as the Mayfair Hotel Gala Screening. Love Gala presents BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR starring Lea Seydoux. PHILOMENA co-written by Jeff Pope and Steve Coogan including performances from Sophie Kennedy Clark and Elliot Levey is presented at the American Express Gala. The American Airlines Gala presents GRAVITY directed by Alfonso Cuarón includes choreography by Francesca Jaynes whose work can also be seen in THE INVISIBLE WOMAN.

Adapted for the screen by Bola Agbaje GONE TOO FAR produced by Christopher Granier-Deferre with a cast that includes Kulvinder Ghir and Bhasker Patel will premiere at the festival. Tom Hardy stars in LOCKE shot by DOP Haris Zambarloukos BSC with costume by Nigel Egerton and edited by Justine Wright. Charlie Cox and Annabelle Wallis can be seen in HELLO CARTER shot by DOP Andrew Dunn BSC.

Helen Scott was Production Designer on THE SELFISH GIANT; Agatha A. Nitecka was Stills and Special Photographer and also worked on EXHIBITION shot by DOP Ed Rutherford. Cinematography by John de Borman BSC can be seen in HALF OF A YELLOW SUN, Hair and Makeup by Kirstin Chalmers in ZERO THEOREM and Georgia Maguire stars in LOVE ME TIL MONDAY.

Last but by no means least the following shorts can be seen; written and directed by Karan Kandhari, SIDNEY (Freaks ‘n’ Geeks), KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES (Bizarre Ride) shot by DOP Ben Kracun and composed by Stuart Earl, ORBIT EVER AFTER (Love Will Conquer All) composed by Graham Hadfield and STAY THE SAME (Contained Movement) a short by Sam Firth.

The festival will run in various locations across the city from 9th to 20th October.
