ILO ILO wins top honours at Golden Horse Awards
Anthony Chen's Camera d’Or winner ILO ILO picked up 4 awards at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards for Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best New Director and Best Supporting Actress.
The 29-year-old director's debut film beat The Grandmaster to the top prize of Best Picture, which was presented to Anthony and his team by jury chair and two-time Oscar winner Ang Lee.
"Singapore is a very little country and we made this film with a small budget, so we never dreamed of winning a best picture prize," said Chen in his acceptance speech.
ILO ILO is Singapore's official entry for the foreign language film category Oscar.
