Three UA clients shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards

Clive James, Bernadine Bishop and Michael Symmons Roberts have been nominated for Costa Book Awards in their various categories.

Clive James's translation of Dante's 'The Divine Comedy' was met with rapturous praise and it is fitting that this work, the most daring and challenging of his career, should be nominated for the Costa Poetry Award. “A towering achievement that will stand the test of time,” said the judges

Bernadine Bishop's novel 'Unexpected Lessons in Love' has been nominated for the Costa Novel Award and is the only posthumous nominee on this years' shortlist. The judges said of her novel, '“An unflinching, darkly funny story of love, obsession and illness that is unexpected in every way.”

Michael Symmons Roberts' sixth collection of poetry, 'Drysalter', has also been nominated for the Costa Poetry Award. Winner of this year's Forward Prize and also shortlisted for the 2013 T. S. Eliot Prize, the judges said of his collection, “He combines philosophical depth with a lightness of touch.”
