Michael Symmons Roberts wins 2013 Costa Poetry Award

Congratulations to Michael Symmons Roberts whose sixth poetry collection, DRYSALTER, has won the 2013 Costa Poetry Award. DRYSALTER, a collection of 150 poems, each 15 lines long, has also won the 2013 Forward Prize and is shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize, was described by the judges as “Contemporary life filtered through the form of common prayer with a musicality sustained across a memorable body of work.”

Michael will now compete with the five other category winners for the ultimate prize, the 2013 Costa Book of the Year, to be announced at an awards ceremony on 28 January.
