BBC Audio Drama Awards

Joseph Wilde, Richard Marsh and Shaun Dooley all received awards at last night’s BBC Audio Drama Awards,

Joseph won the Imison Award for Best Radio Drama Script by a new writer for THE LOVING BALLAD OF CAPTAIN BATEMAN (co-nominated with Tim van Eyken who composed its music): a modern love story, reaching from Afghanistan to Northumberland, based on an old ballad.

Richard was awarded the prize for Best Scripted Comedy Drama, for an episode of LOVE AND SWEETS, his performance-poetry telling of love and loss.  The radio series, produced by Lucky Giant for BBC Radio 4, is an adaptation of Richard’s live one-man show, SKITTLES, which played at the 2011 Edinburgh Festival.  It originally went out over Easter of last year and was also nominated in the Best Scripted Comedy (Studio Audience) category.

Shaun was named Best Supporting Actor in an Audio Drama for THE GOTHIC IMAGINATION: FRANKENSTEIN (one of two seminal gothic horror stories (the other being DRACULA)).
