Alissa Nutting longlisted for Sunday Times Short Story Award

Congratulations to Alissa Nutting whose story, 'The Expectation of Anywhere', has been longlisted for the 2014 Sunday Times Short Story Award. The £30,000 prize - the largest in the world for a single short story - is awarded for an outstanding English-language story of 6,000 words or under from a fiction author from anywhere in the world who has been published in the UK or Ireland.

In her story, Alissa, author of last year's controversial TAMPA, explores a teenager's 'unusal sort of unrequited love'. Both funny and moving, this story is an honest look at the awkwardness and yearning of a difficult coming of age.

The shortlist will be announced in the Sunday Times on 2nd March, followed by a gala dinner on 4th April to announce the winner.
