WETLANDS opens in the US

Writer/director David Wnendt's provocative feature WETLANDS opens today in the US, and does so having garnered strong reviews from the critics:

The New York Times 3/4 Stars

The tone is breezy, bright and brash, vividly illuminated by Ms. Juri’s extraordinarily unprotected and utterly fearless performance.

Rolling Stone 3/4 Stars

...liberating and ferociously comic. There's no chance you'll mistake WETLANDS for PRETTY LITTLE LIARS with graphic sex and subtitles.

The New York Post 4/4 Stars

Take note, Lars von Trier: This is how you do a truly funny, subversive movie about a woman’s obsession with the human body and sex.

Slant Magazine 3/4 Stars

While the beginning of the film introduces its main character in what may seem like gratuitously scatological fashion, WETLANDS does have a story to tell, and a wonderfully associative approach to editing.

The coming-of-age drama about a young woman with an unhealthy and fetishistic obsession with certain body parts (and bodily fluids) screened at Sundance as part of the World Dramatic Competition earlier this year.
