BIFA 2014 nominees announced

The nominees for this years British Independent Film Awards have been announced, and UA wish to congratulate all of our clients who feature among the shortlist!

71', with cinematography handled by Tat Radcliffe, leads the nominations with a total of 9, including a nod for Best British Independent Film. Best Director nominee Mike Leigh's MR TURNER, whose production design was handled by Suzie Davies, also features here, and garners a total of 7 nominations, with Lenny Abrahamson's FRANK getting a total tally of 5, including Best Screenplay for Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan.

Writer/diretor Hong Khaou is nominated for Best Debut Director for his feature LILTING, which has also secured nominations for Best Actress (Cheng Pei Pei) and Best Achievement in Production. Composer Stuart Earl provided the score, with Annette Field as make-up designer and Camille Benda as costume designer.

EMOTIONAL FUSEBOX - written, directed and edited by Rachel Tunnard, and starring Jodie Whittaker - received a nomination for Best British Short. 

On the acting front, Keira Knightley gets a Best Actress nod for her work in THE IMITATION GAME, with Andrew Scott nominated as Best Supporting Actor for PRIDE and Cara Delevingne receiving a Best Newcomer nomination for FACE OF AN ANGEL. 

20,000 DAYS ON EARTH, edited by Jonathan Amos ACE, and THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS, edited by David Charap both feature as Best Documentary nominees
