New Trailer for Levan Akin's THE CIRCLE
A new trailer has dropped for Levan Akin's Swedish fantasy adaptation THE CIRCLE (CIRKELN). The hotly anticipated film screened as a work in progress at the Stockholm Film Festival last month. Neus Olle provides the lush cinematograpghy.
Based on the first young adult novel of a trilogy by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergmark Elfgren, THE CIRCLE takes place in rural Sweden and follows a group of teenage girls chosen to save the world from evil. Comparisons have been drawn to TWIN PEAKS and BUFFY. Budgeted at a modest $6m, it will bow in Sweden on Feb. 18 with other territories to follow. Levan Akin's feature debut CERTAIN PEOPLE world preemed at Stockholm in 2011.
“The Circle” is produced by Benny Andersson, who also provides the score, and his son Ludvig Andersson at RMV Film, together with Cecilia Norman Mardell.
