2015 OSCAR NOMINEES ANNOUNCED

A record breaking year for UA as this afternoon the 2015 Oscar nominations were announced with a total of nine UA nominees. 

For Best Actress in a Leading Role Julianne Moore and Rosamund Pike both receive nominations for their performances in STILL ALICE and GONE GIRL respectively. Keira Knightley’s performance in THE IMITATION GAME has been rewarded with a nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

With a Golden Globe already under his belt for his performance in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, Eddie Redmayne receives a nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category.

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL has received a whopping 9 nominations including the Achievement in Film Editing award for which Barney Pilling has been recognised for his work and Best Original Screenplay which was co-written by UA’s Hugo Guinness and Wes Anderson.

Suzie Davies has seen her work on Mike Leigh’s MR TURNER receive a nomination for the Achievement in Production Design award and for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Lizzie Yianni Georgiou has been nominated in the Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling category.

BOOGALOO AND GRAHAM, directed by Michael Lennox, has been nominated for the Best Live Action Short Film award whilst BOXTROLLS, based on Alan Snow’s book HERE BE MONSTERS!, has received a nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Amongst the Best Motion Picture awards are THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL and AMERICAN SNIPER which feature respective performances from Lea Seydoux and Sienna Miller.

The winners will be announced on the 22nd February in Los Angeles at a ceremony that is sure to be as exciting as it will be glamorous.
