Highest Rated New Drama of 2015: DR FOSTER

Drama Republic’s critically acclaimed 5 part series, DR FOSTER, helmed by UA client Tom Vaughan and written by playwright Mike Bartlett, has become the highest-rated new drama of 2015 after its final episode consolidated to over 10m viewers. The drama follows Dr Gemma Foster who, on discovering her husband has been unfaithful, decides to take revenge. Additional UA clients involved include Tom Hemmings as Editor, Helen Scott as Production Designer and Clare-Hope Ashitey playing the role of Carly.

The drama generated a consolidated average audience of 8.2m (31.3%) across its 5 x 60-minute run, with the final episode consolidating to 10.1m (37.4%) viewers. Fantastic reviews aided the growth in viewing figures.

“A compelling, tightly-scripted drama, more in the vein of feature-length psychological thriller Gone Girl than a cosy comedy TV drama... (with) clever direction from Tom Vaughan.” The Independent

“An edgy nail-biter...this was tensely intriguing fare. It was reminiscent of Fatal Attraction from the wronged wife’s point of view or the domestic noir novels that have been all the rage since Gone Girl.” The Telegraph

“A brilliant and gripping portrait of a marriage slowly being poisoned. I...urge you to watch.” The Guardian
