UK's highest rated foreign-language drama : DEUTSCHLAND 83
Critically acclaimed German TV drama Deutschland 83, created by UA client Anna Winger has become the highest-rated foreign-language drama in the U.K.
The drama is set against the backdrop of the Cold War in 1983, and focuses on a young East German sent into the West as a spy.
The consolidated ratings for episode one of 2.5 million viewers, beat the previous record of 2.2 million held by The Returned (2013).
Deutschland 83 forms part of ‘Walter Presents’, a brand new on-demand service showcasing the world’s best foreign-language drama.
