The Offies 2016 - Nominations Announced!

The Offies (Off West End Theatre Awards) have begun announcing their nominations and we are delighted to see so many UA clients in the mix! The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation and ingenuity of independent theatres across London.  

Chris Urch’s THE ROLLING STONE (Orange Tree Theatre) has been nominated for Best New Play. It has also received nominations for Best Production, Best Director, Best Male and Best Supporting Male.

In the Best Female category are Jenna Russell for GREY GARDENS at Southwark Playhouse and Olivia Poulet for PRODUCT at the Arcola Theatre.

Verity Quinn has been nominated for Best Set Designer for ALPHA BETA at the Finborough, which was directed by Purni MorellPurni is also up for Best Artistic Director for her work at the Unicorn Theatre.  

Barney Norris’s EVENTIDE at the Arcola Theatre is up for several awards including Best New Play. EVENTIDE starred Ellie Piercy and featured set and costume design by Ben Stones and sound design from George Dennis. George also designed sound for fellow Best New Play nominee A BREAKFAST OF EELS and Best Production nominee IMAGE OF AN UNKNOWN YOUNG WOMAN. 

Other nominees for Best Production include PLAY MAS at the Orange Tree which was cast by UA’s Briony Barnett, BRENDA at the Yard which was designed by James Turner and (in the 0-7 category) LAND OF LIGHTS which featured lighting design by Jack Knowles. In the Best Musical category, XANADU was choreographed by Nathan M. Wright.
