| FLESH AND BLOOD 2011 Orion | When ambitious young Detective Sergeant Minter joins Brighton's elite crime squad, his new boss makes it very clear he's not welcome. To Tom Beckett, Minter is one of the new breed of police officers - seemingly cool-eyed and analytical, he's a far cry from the traditional copper. But there's more to Minter than his boss could ever know. Meanwhile, Beckett's biggest case, Operation Windmill, is going belly-up. Russell Compton, Brighton's most violent drug dealer, is about to get off. And when an undercover cop is shot dead, it soon becomes clear that the problem with Operation Windmill lies close to home. Very close indeed. Only Minter can find the answers. But to do so, he has to go up against the only family he has ever known. The police family. Minter embarks on a bloody journey that not only sets him on a collision course with his own team, but also pulls him back into his troubled past - to a childhood spent in care and the vicious murder of his closest friend. As past and present converge, Minter must fight to uncover the startling truth, and bring a betrayer to justice. |
