William Irvine was born in 1971. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of East Anglia, and in his spare time works as a freelance editor, and a Reader at Granta. He has edited a number of anthologies, including Incertus (2007) and From the Small Back Room (2009), a Festschrift for the T.S. Eliot Prize-winning poet, Ciaran Carson. He lives in Belfast and Detroit.
