About
| Rupert took a First in English from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1994, and after graduating was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study performance studies at New York University. On returning to Britain he went on the Carlton / Donmar director training programme, was selected in 1995 for the inaugural directors training scheme at the RNT studio, and in 1996 took the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme at the Salisbury Playhouse, who made him Associate Artist in 1997. Rupert was Artistic Director of the Royal and Derngate Theatres in Northampton 2002-5 and is currently Artistic Director at Headlong Theatre (previously The Oxford Stage Company). He is also an Associate Director for the RSC. |
