Tim is a playwright, director and theatre-maker. He was an actor before starting to write and he still performs in much of his work. Plays include Toto Kerblammo! (Unicorn Theatre), Truth’s a Dog Must to Kennel (Lyceum Theatre, tour), Are You a Robot? (Wonder Fools), Superglue (NT Connections), Total Immediate Collective Imminent Terrestrial Salvation (NTS, Royal Court, tour), I, Cinna (the poet) (RSC and Unicorn Theatre), Beginners (Unicorn Theatre), Adler & Gibb (Royal Court, Center Theatre Group, tour), The Author (Royal Court, tour), An Oak Tree (Lyceum Theatre Studio, Traverse Theatre, National Theatre, Off-Broadway, tour), I, Malvolio (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Brighton Festival, tour), ENGLAND – a play for galleries (Traverse Theatre/The Fruitmarket Gallery, tour) Shopping for Shoes (National Theatre schools tour) and My Arm (Traverse Theatre, tour).

Tim created and co-wrote Don’t Forget the Driver, a six-part series for BBC2, which won Best TV Comedy at the Venice TV awards, 2019. Tim’s adaptation of Italo Calvino’s If on a winters night a traveller for BBC Radio 4 received a special commendation at the 2024 Radio Awards
Tim’s career as an actor includes Prospero in The Tempest (Sam Wanamaker Playhouse), Petruchio, Malvolio, Vanya and Prospero for the Franklin Stage Co, New York; Macbeth (title role, Swan Theatre, Worcester); Light Shining in Buckinghamshire, Rosencrantz and Gulldenstern are Dead, The Good person of Setzuan (National Theatre); Handbag, (ATC, Lyric Hammersmith and tour). Tim was co-founder of Public Parts in Bristol and toured theatre in communities in the South West for 7 years.
Awards include: Off West End Offie (I, Cinna (the poet) & Toto Kerblammo!); Scotsman Fringe First (Truth’s a Dog Must to Kennel); Writers Guild of Great Britain, Best Play for Young Audiences (Beginners); John Whiting Award, Total Theatre Award (The Author); Scotsman Fringe First, Total Theatre & Herald Archangel Awards (ENGLAND); Herald Angel, Off-Broadway Obie (An Oak Tree); Prix Italia for Best Adaptation in Radio Drama (My Arm).
